Dave Humphries - CEO

Director

Dave grew up in the tight-knit town of Kadina on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula, surrounded by his parents and four siblings. His talent for basketball took him across the globe: first to the USA on a college scholarship, where he completed a Sociology degree, and then to the UK, where he played professionally and volunteered in homelessness shelters and youth programs.

Returning to Australia, Dave followed his heart to Kalgoorlie, WA, where he worked closely with Indigenous families, schools, and communities. All while continuing his love of sport and representing WA in state-level basketball.

Now living in South Australia, Dave is a proud husband to Jess and father to Arlo and Summer, as well as dog dad to Lacie and Sev. Outside of work, you’ll find him spending time with his family, out on the golf course, or relaxing with a good crime series.

With a career spanning residential care, Indigenous support, youth mentoring, and NDIS Support Coordination, Dave brings more than experience to Your Choice Matters, he brings heart, purpose, and a genuine belief in the power of human connection. He leads by example, shows up for others, and never loses sight of why this work matters!

Say hello to the YCM Brisbane team!

Brooke

Operations Manager

Brooke is the friendly face of YCM’s Brisbane / Gold Coast office, bringing a unique blend of compassion, creativity, and operational expertise to her role as Operations Manager. With a professional background that spans from founding and growing her own businesses, to leading operations for multiple teams, to providing specialised therapeutic foster care, Brooke knows how to balance structure with heart!

Her time as a specialised foster carer strengthened her skills in empathy, patience, and positive reinforcement – qualities that naturally flow into her work at YCM. She has also managed operations across health, corporate, and community-focused organisations, always ensuring that people feel supported, valued,
and empowered.

Outside of the office, Brooke’s life is just as vibrant. She shares her home with Koda, her big goofy mastiff-cross, and Klaus, her adorable ragdoll kitten with plenty of fluff and attitude. She loves music, meditation, playing tennis, and beach walks that recharge her energy. When she’s feeling creative, she pours her imagination into making scrapbooks, combining her love of detail and storytelling.

At YCM, Brooke’s mission is to ensure the Gold Coast team and participants experience the same warmth, fun, and sense of community that she creates in her own life. She believes support work should feel personal, uplifting, and empowering – and she’s here to make that happen!

Joe strives to create a safe and supportive environment where participants feel valued, respected, and free to express themselves openly. He believes that genuine connection begins with honesty and humility, qualities that guide every interaction he has.

His approach centres on active listening and empathy, allowing him to understand each participant’s unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. Joe prioritises the goals of each individual, helping them identify their own path forward while offering encouragement, perspective, and practical strategies for personal growth.
